FlickIt 2

FlickIt 0.1.2

This should be the last bug fix release for the 0.1 version iteration. I’ve been putting this off because it’s been rather difficult for me to tie down this specific bug, which only affects 1 out of every 1,000 FlickIt users. This update is not mandatory for all users, nor is it recommended for anyone that experiences normal FlickIt usage. If you have already patched your version of FlickIt, then you do not need this update either.

So, now that I’ve gotten everyone to not update, I’ll explain why I wanted to release this small release. Partially to make sure that everyone that wanted to use FlickIt, with WordPress, could do so. Also to give credit where credit is due.

Shane Robinson (aka notm) and Lou (aka .lou) have both kept an open dialog with me during the debugging of this issue. Both have been extremely courteous and helpful even though their versions of FlickIt were not working. Both have contributed, in more ways than one, to the betterment of FlickIt. To both of you, I say thank you.

You’re probably wondering why such a small release when FlickIt 0.2 is on its way. I’ve been working on version 0.2 here and there for quite a while now, and it’s starting to look great. I’m really excited about the direction that FlickIt is going, and can’t wait to release it to the public. That being said, it will still be a little while before I make a public release. I’ve decided to start FlickIt relatively from scratch. Version 0.1 used code grabbed from various locations, and patched altogether to make what I call an experiment in popularity and usage. I wanted to see if there was a signifigant enough need for this utility, and believe me there is. FlickIt downloads have never stopped coming in from the very first day of release, and in fact - have increased on almost a daily basis. I feel sorry that I can not really give back to those who have promoted FlickIt, in the original way I intended (with dolla bills y’all), but I’ll do my best by putting extra effort into version 0.2.

Before I forget, I’ll be releasing support for other CMSs with the next release of FlickIt. I won’t release a definitive list yet, but I’d like to ask for anyone who has experience in the direct customization of the Moveable Type admin interface. I’ve spoken to a few experienced “Moveable Typers”, as well as a few developers and I would really like to create as easy a installation process as is possible. Any help in this regard will be given full credit, and appreciated.

Until next time, happy photo posting…

I just did a Paypal for this. Good job. Now, my question *heh*

The readme says to refer back to the website for instructions. Is there a portion of this site I am missing?
